Welcome to Mousehole Harbour Lights! This is the official site for the annual Christmas lights that adorn the village of Mousehole, Cornwall. Started in 1963, the Mousehole Harbour Lights are switched on each December, illuminating the village until early January.

Mousehole Harbour Art Auction
The first of the annual Mousehole Carnival paintings has been donated to Mousehole Harbour Lights to raise funds and will be auctioned by David Lay Auctioneers at their Cornish and Fine Art sale on 10th July 2025.

Mousehole Carnival
This yearβs carnival is on Sunday 9th August , the parade leaves from the Old Coastguard at 11pm.

Fundraising and Volunteers
The Mousehole Harbour Lights Committee is run solely by volunteers, who help to raise money and maintain the lights ready for switch on. We are also only funded by donations and some small grants, which means that we are kindly asking people to donate what they can throughout the year.

At the Mousehole Harbour Lights we are happy to welcome new members, If you would like to volunteer please do get in touch.
No special skills are needed by volunteers to help with the Lights and the existing members have widely differing backgrounds and the contributions of men and women are equally welcomed and valued. So, if you wish to help and ensure that Mousehole Harbour Lights will continue to delight local people and visitors alike for another generation to come please consider joining us.
There is no commitment needed and the work parties generally take place on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons with membersβ input being as much or as little as they feel able to give.

The Mousehole Harbour Lights are self supported and apart from a small grant from the local council we rely on donations from the public and businesses to fund not only the Christmas display but all the annual maintenance and repair to each of the display pieces.
